This article is intended for event organizers to understand how to integrate your Slido polling and Q&A to be able to launch your polls and Q&A in your virtual event in Boomset.
In order for Slido Polls and Q&A to be embedded in separate tabs in your Boomset virtual event, you will need to create two different events in Slido, one for your Polls and one for your Q&A.
Polls
After you have created your Poll event in Slido, please go to your event in Boomset and go to Manage > Sessions area, and click on a session that you would like to have polls in.
In your event in Slido, please click on Settings > Features and turn on Live Polls and click Save.
After you have created your poll questions in Slido, you will need to integrate your polls in Slido with your event in Boomset by copying the event link in Slido. When you are in the Live Polls tab in Slido, please click on Participant Mode on the left, click on the three dots, then click on Copy Link to Clipboard.
In your session on Boomset, you will then need to click Virtual Settings and toggle On Session Poll. Please ensure the Poll Type is set to Others, and paste the link you copied from the event in Slido when you see Poll URL (iFrame) in Boomset and scroll to the bottom and click Update.
When you are ready to launch your poll questions in your virtual event in Boomset, you will need to click Activate Poll on your question in Slido. After you Activate, your attendees can then select their answer and click Send, or if it is a Text answer, they can enter their answer and click Send.
After your attendees have selected their answers and you have reviewed the poll results with them, you will need to click Deactivate Poll in Slido in order for this question to not show in the Poll tab in Boomset. When you are ready to launch your next question, you will need to click Activate Poll on that question and repeat the steps again.
Answers to Slido poll questions can only be exported in Slido.
Q&A
After you have created your Q&A event in Slido, please go to your event in Boomset and go to Manage > Sessions area, and click on a session that you would like to have Q&A in.
In your event in Slido, please click on Settings > Features and turn on Q&A and click Save.
After you have set up this event in Slido, you will need to integrate your Q&A event with your event in Boomset by copying the event link in Slido. When you are in the Audience Q&A tab in Slido, please click on Participant Mode on the left, click on the three dots, then click on Copy Link to Clipboard.
In your session in Boomset, you will then need to click Virtual Settings and toggle On Q&A. In the box next to Q&A Url (iFrame), you will need to paste the link you copied from the event in Slido and scroll to the bottom, and click Update.
When you are in the session in your virtual event in Boomset, click on the Q&A tab. Attendees can type and submit their questions and have the option to submit Anonymously or type in their name. After questions have been submitted, attendees can upvote or downvote certain questions by clicking on the Like or Dislike buttons. The ones with the most likes will move to the top of the Popular tab, and the ones with the most dislikes will move towards the bottom of this tab. You can also click on the Recent tab to see the most recent questions submitted.
In Slido, you will be able to click on the Live tab and see which questions have been submitted. If a question has been answered or discussed, you can click Mark As Answered. This question will no longer appear in the Q&A tab in your virtual event in Boomset and will be archived in Slido for future reference.
Q&A questions submitted in this event can only be exported in Slido.
