Create Parent/Child Custom Questions
This article is intended for event organizers to better understand how to create conditional custom questions in our platform.
In order to create conditional custom questions, you will need to go to Manage > Registration Form > Custom Questions on the event dashboard.
Click Create Question to first create the parent question.
Please select the Audience type as Attendee, and then enter the name of the question, the answer type of the question and the answers to your parent question. The answers must be in Dropdown or Radio Button form in order for the child question to populate from corresponding answers.
You can then determine which registration types are to answer this question, and then enter the Visibility option. Once you have made your selections, please click Save at the bottom.
After you have created the parent question, you will need to create the child question by clicking Create Question again.
Select the Audience type as Attendee, and then enter the name of the question, the answer type, and the it's subsequent answers.
Note: The answer type can be any for the child question.
In the Parent Question section, select the name of the question and then the name of the answer to this question that will trigger this question to show. You may need to create multiple questions if each answer to your parent question is to trigger a different question. Please then determine which registration type this question is to answer this question, and then enter the Visibility options for this question.
After you have done this, please go to the corresponding platform that you are using the question on to test to ensure that when you enter the specific answer to the parent question that the child question populates, and when you enter a different answer that the child question does not populate.
