This article is geared towards event organizers to better understand how to update fields and information for attendees currently on your guest list in your event in Boomset.
The unique identifier for all attendees in any event in Boomset is their Barcode. In order to update your attendees' information you will first need to download a report with the Barcode field included.
In order to do this in your event, please go to Analyze > Reports, click Create Report, select Attendee Report and name your report.
In your report, you will then need to select Add New Column and click Registration and select Barcode. You will also need to select Default Questions and then select First Name and Last Name. You can then select any additional fields you would like to download with your report. You will then need to click Reload and then Export at the top right in order to receive your report.
After you have made your updates in your excel sheet, you will then need to go to Manage > Import Guest List and click Import. Please match the fields in your sheet with the fields in Boomset and ensure that Barcode is matched to Barcode. The fields usually automatically match, if they are not matched they will show up in the red as below and you will need to manually match to the field in Boomset from the dropdown menu for that field. You will then need to click Complete Import.
Once you click Complete Import, you will see a pop up message which will show two messages.
1. "X Amount of Guests Are Ready to be Updated" - This refers to the number of guests that Boomset has recognized the Barcode for and is updating their information.
2. "X Amount of Guests Are Ready to be Imported" - This refers to the number of guests that Boomset does not recognize the Barcode for so it will upload them as new attendees.
Once you have completed the import, please go to Manage > Imported Guest Lists to check the status. The number of Guests will show the number of new attendees only, so if there are no new attendees on the list you imported it will show 0. After this, you can go to the Guest List and check to ensure the attendee's information is correctly updated.
